I understand that life doesn’t always fit into a 9-5 schedule, especially for those who work shifts and/or have children. That’s why I offer flexible, online sessions, including during evenings and weekends, ensuring you get the expert care and support you need, whenever you need it.

Dr Emma Salazar

Hey! I'm so glad you're here. I am an online eating disorder therapist with additional experience as the Clinical Lead of an NHS Community Eating Disorder Service. I have recovered from an eating disorder myself, and am deeply passionate about helping others navigate the path towards recovery.

I offer therapy for teenagers and adults who need support with any kind of body image and/or eating issues. I'm trained in all three NICE-recommended treatments for eating disorders and have special interests in working with LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent folks as well as men. Supporting the loved ones and carers of people with eating disorders is another of my areas of interest and expertise.

I also provide specialist training for mental or physical health clinicians and colleagues to learn more about how to better support people with eating disorders in their area of practice. I have a wealth of experience as a lecturer, conference speaker, and trainer within the NHS and private sectors.

Thrive Recovery

Why a cactus? Having lived in California, the desert is my happy place - I find the still, quiet, unchanging landscape of the desert to be so calming. The cactus feels like an intuitive symbol for a psychotherapy practice to me - even in the harshest conditions, the cactus is able to grow and blossom.

In Native American culture, the cactus is a symbol of warmth and unconditional, enduring love - just like the love I hope to help you cultivate for yourself. Resilience, endurance, and adaptability are other words associated with the cactus - all themes we will discuss lots together, as I walk with you down the path of recovery.
